About Elaine D’Aprile

Elaine is a registered nurse with 42 years of diverse experiences in clinical nursing, perioperative nursing, ambulatory care, legal nurse consulting and case management. She began her career at age 15 as a nurses’ aide in a local nursing home where her vision of caring for people became apparent. She has since followed her thread of care-giving for patients, families and staff while developing strong skills in leadership and education. Her experiences include nurse management and preceptorship while working for the American Red Cross and during an 18 year tenure as a perioperative nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital. During these years of full time work, Elaine was presented with an opportunity to serve as a nurse corps officer in the U.S. Air Force reserve. She has retired after 28 years of military service caring for military servicemen and women as a flight nurse during peacetime, with deployments during wartime.
With her military experience, she developed a program as a nurse case manager for joint military staff and wounded warriors in the National Capital Area, associated with the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and working at the Pentagon. Elaine holds certifications as a perioperative nurse (CNOR), a legal nurse consultant (CLNC) and a nurse case manager (CCM). She is studying nurse life care planning, has memberships in associated organizations and attends professional conferences to gain further education and CEUs.
